Happy Monday! I hope you all had a splendid weekend. Besides locking myself out of my house (yeah, I know – lame) I actually got a lot done. More than usual, which means that I’m slowly baby-stepping my way to productiveness.
What made this weekend a prime one is that I finally, finally got to go on a run. Although it was only a few miles and at a pretty slow pace, it felt natural and liberating. I’ve been too ill and exhausted to hit the pavement for the last few weeks, and I’m stoked that I was able to handle any distance at all.
I truly love running because it’s more of a mental and spiritual experience than a physical one. Of course, it can be physically grueling – particularly in the beginning – but there’s something beautiful in overpowering physical pain with mental strength and resilience. You feel powerful, capable, and alive. On a great run, it cleanses the spirit and clears the mind.
Today’s motivation Monday is about running. It’s one of the most accessible and effective exercises out there. It doesn’t require any skill or equipment aside from running shoes and some headphones. It can be done anywhere, by almost anyone, on any given day.
